Abstract:

Background and objective: Hypertension is a psycho-physiological problem. There are several biological and psychological factors that affect the incidence and severity of hypertension. The present study was aimed to investigate the mediating role of Subjective-wellbeing in terms of perceived stress and hypertension.Materials and methods: In this descriptive-correlated study, the study population included over-45-adult patients with hypertension who referred to health centers in Tehran. Through convenience sampling 298 persons (121 male and 177 female) were selected as samples of the study. Perceived stress scale questionnaire and Subjective well-being questionnaire were used to gather the data. To analyze the data Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used. Results: There was a significant and negative correlation between Subjective well-being and hypertension (p < 0.01, b= 0.353). The Subjective well-being mediates the relationship between perceived stress and hypertension (p < 0.01, b=0.203) and scores of perceived stress and Subjective well-being explain the percentage of variance in blood pressure and changes in scores of perceived stress explain 45% of variance in Subjective well-being. Conclusion: People with high blood pressure have high perceived stress and Subjective well-being contributes to the control of hypertension.

Abstract:

Social wellbeing has great impact on physical and social health, as well as, promoting environmental justice in local communities. Despite several studies on the concept of social wellbeing in relation to social environment, the majority of these works have been conducted in developed countries. The study aimed to investigate the association of social environment aspects (safety, social participation, social network, and social cohesion) with social wellbeing in low-economic neighborhoods in an Iranian adult population. Since many of the old textures of cities have the problem of low-income, poverty and poor conditions, the aim of this study was to improve the situation of low-income and poor neighborhoods in wellbeing. A total of 1100 questionnaires systematically were distributed among adults population residing in 4 low-income neighborhoods of Bandar Abbas city, Iran. Of these 924 qualified questionnaires were used for further analysis. Despite the low economic conditions, social wellbeing were reported high. In addition, women reported higher social wellbeing than men. Women were socially more active than men, however were perceived less safe compared to their counterparts. All aspects of social variables positively contributed with social wellbeing among men, while in women group no link between safety and social wellbeing were determined. Findings suggest that programming efforts and research should focus on increasing social activities that support social participation and social cohesion to promote social wellbeing among residents. Designing and implementing effective intervention to improve inviting spaces to do small and large social activities can help in rising social wellbeing in low-income neighbourhoods.

Data were collected with using a researcher-made spiritual management questionnaire, Keyes and Magyar-Moe Subjective well-being scale and Lussier ethical behavior inventory analyzed by methods of Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression with enter model in SPSS-19 software. Findings: The findings showed that Subjective well-being (r=0. 384) and ethical behavior (r=0. 562) had a positive and significant correlation with employees' spiritual management. Also, both variables of Subjective well-being and ethical behavior together were able to explain 47. 7% of the changes of employees' spiritual management, which in this prediction the share of ethical behavior (Beta=0. 350) was higher than Subjective well-being (Beta=0. 243) (P<0. 001). Conclusion: According to the effective role of Subjective well-being and ethical behavior in predicting the employees' spiritual management, specialists and planners to promote spiritual management can improve their Subjective well-being and ethical behavior through workshops and training courses.
